Shop Common Thread is a women's clothing boutique at River Street Marketplace in San Juan Capistrano, California. We opened here in 2025 as our second location. Our first store has been on 17th Street in Costa Mesa since 2006.
You can walk in without an appointment and someone will help you put outfits together. There is no styling fee and no minimum purchase. If you would rather look on your own, that is completely fine. We will be nearby when you want us.

What happens when you come in
Tell us where you are going and how much time you have. That is usually all we need. We pull a fitting room for you while you look around, and we bring you sizes so you are not getting dressed twice.
Most women come in for one thing and leave with three outfits they can actually wear on a Tuesday. That is the point. We are not trying to sell you a special occasion you do not have.
Who shops here
Busy women in South County. Women coming from Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, San Clemente and Ladera Ranch who want to get dressed in five minutes and still look put together. Our sizes run XS through L and our price points sit where a real wardrobe gets built, not where it gets rented.
Questions we get
Do I need an appointment for styling?
No. Walk in any time we are open and ask. If you want a set time with a specific stylist, call or text 949-350-0106 and we will hold it.
Is there a fee for personal styling?
No fee and no minimum. It is how we run the store.
What sizes do you carry?
Straight sizes, XS through L depending on the brand. We do not carry plus sizes, activewear or menswear.
Where do I park at River Street Marketplace?
The lot is paid. If you eat at Mendocino Farms while you are there, they validate.
Can I return something I bought online at this store?
Yes. Bring it to either location within 30 days and we will take care of it.
