Denim that fits the body you have now

Most women's denim problem isn't taste, it's that the jeans in the drawer were bought for a different year. Fit changes. Bodies change. Denim is the one staple that never goes anywhere, so it's worth getting right.

      How to pick a pair

      • Start with the rise, not the size. High rise sits at the natural waist and stays put when you sit down. Mid rise is more forgiving through the hip. If you're pulling your waistband up all day, the rise is wrong, not the size. Ready for low rise? It's on its way back, and we're dabbling, so you have everything you want in one place.
      • Decide how much stretch you want to live with. Rigid denim holds its shape and breaks in over months. Stretch is comfortable on day one and relaxes by the afternoon. Neither is better, they just behave differently by 4pm.
      • Try the leg opening against the shoes you actually wear. Wide leg needs a bit of heel or a chunky sneaker. Straight works with almost everything. Barrel wants a flat.

      On the floor this month

Barrel and bowed legs are outselling everything else on our floor this month, followed by a relaxed straight. Skinny hasn't been the answer for a while, though you may not want to toss them yet. Spring 2027 brings a few back onto our floor, just one or two, not the main staple. Denim turns fast here, so what's in store this week is the honest answer to what's great.

How many pairs of jeans do you actually need?

Three. One straight or slim pair that works with flats and sneakers, one wide leg for dressing up, and one relaxed pair for weekends. Choose those, wear them out, and you'll know where to expand. Our owner reaches for a loose leg nine times out of ten, so she buys every pair we land. You know you best. We know outfits best.
